We're excited to announce that DNA Fusion access control software and the SSP-D2 intelligent controller are now registered on the United States General Services Administration GSA Approval list (APL #10075) under the PACS Infrastructure category. The addition of both DNA Fusion and the SSP-D2 intelligent controller to the GSA APL is a win for government agencies needing a technologically-advanced yet affordable access control solution. Milestone Systems’ Annual MIPS Event Highlights Open Platform Commitment and Open Options’ Contribution to Security for The Orlando Eye Entertainment Complex
Open Options has attended the annual Milestone Integration Platform Symposium (MIPS) for the past 9 years. This year was yet another terrific event as Milestone celebrated our core value and common goal: open platform innovations. Open Options has embraced the open platform philosophy since opening its doors in 1998.
Changing their tagline to The Open Platform Community - in place of their usual The Open Platform Company - Milestone Systems shared many of the latest innovations in their video management software (VMS) solutions with a variety of integration partners such as Open Options. MIPS, hosted this year in Scottsdale, Arizona, Feb. 22-25, was a unique and educational networking opportunity specifically designed for sales and integration partners with a focus on IP video surveillance. MIPS has become an industry event bringing the top integrators, camera manufacturers, and software developers together for networking and education.
A highlight of MIPS 2016 was a presentation on a joint Milestone-Open Options project: Merlin Entertainment's Orlando Eye entertainment complex in Florida. Security for the 400-foot, state-of-the-art Orlando Eye observation wheel, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, and SEA LIFE aquarium is provided by a powerful integration between Milestone’s XProtect Enterprise VMS, Open Options’ DNA Fusion access control software, and AXIS Communications IP video surveillance cameras. Integrator Signature Systems of Florida oversaw the project, recommending the key software and hardware elements.
A longtime Milestone Systems integration partner, Open Options has expended their integration with the company’s VMS product to include the Access Control Module (ACM) which allows XProtect users to access DNA Fusion from within the XProtect Smart Client. XProtect has been accessible from within DNA Fusion for several years as well.
Open Options values open platform partners such as Milestone because it promotes choice in security solution hardware and software and does not lock end users in expensive proprietary traps.
