TB 18.12 – Mercury EP/LP Controllers and issue communicating with OSDP readers

Topic:Series 2 and Series 3 controllers/sub-controllers may have issues communicating with OSDP readers

Applies to: Mercury Series 2 boards (NSC-100, SSP-D2) and Series 3 boards, including the SSP-LX (LP-4502) when communicating with OSDP readers.

Summary: The OSDP readers are interpreting a non-driven 485-line as data in certain installation environments. This interpretation results in a communication fault that will inhibit the panel and reader from properly communicating.

Resolution: For users deploying series 2 or series 3 boards that are communicating to OSDP readers, place a 1K ohm(Ω) 1% resistor between DAT D0 and GND line.  Download tech bulletin below for images.

TB 18.11 – ODBC Error when Running Reports

Topic: ODBC Error when Running Reports in DNA Fusion

Applies to: All versions of DNA Fusion

Summary: The following error message is displayed when running a report in DNA Fusion. Connection Failed, Cannot open user default, login Failed  This error is generated when SQL is set to the default NT Authentication setting.

Resolution: Add the DNAUsers group or individual windows credentials directly to the SQL Server Security Logins to allow remote connections. Newer versions of SQL server will not allow remote connections from the local users database security folder users.

TB 18.9 – Connecting LP Series Controller with earlier versions of DNA Fusion

Topic:  LP Series Controllers require a DIP switch setting to connect with earlier versions of DNA Fusion

Applies to: LP Series Controllers and DNA Fusion versions prior to 7.1.0.46

Resolution: Setting DIP switch #4 to ON position on LP series controllers allows them to function like an EP series controller in the DNA Fusion software. This is used in situations where the host software has not been updated to support the LP series product line.

TB 18.8 – Error Stating Configured Identity is incorrect

Topic:  Error Stating Configured Identity is incorrect

Applies to: All versions of DNA Fusion

Resolution: The NPowerDNA COM+ Application will need to be configured with an account to run the service. Ensure that the Windows account has local Administrator rights. Open Options recommends using a strong password for the account set to not expire.

TB 18.7 – ISONAS Readers Auto-Discovery Failure

Topic:  ISONAS Readers Auto-Discovery Failure

Applies to: ISONAS Readers-controllers

Resolution: For ISONAS reader-controllers that fail to auto discover, they will need to be configured to be in Server mode to enable our ability to bring them on-line and manually configure the IP addresses of the failed reader-controllers in DNA Fusion.

TB 18.5 – Series 3 Boards and LX Controllers communicating with OSDP readers

Topic:  Series 3 Boards and LX controllers may be impacted when communicating with OSDP readers

Applies to: Series 3 Mercury boards and SSP-LX controllers communicating with OSDP readers

Summary: OSDP readers are interpreting a non-driven 485-line as data in certain installation environments. This interpretation results in a communication fault that will inhibit the panel and reader from properly communicating.

Resolution: For users deploying the series 3 boards or LX controllers, place a 1K ohm(Ω) 1% resistor between DAT D0 and GND line.  This will create a communication bias that will keep the reader from improperly interpreting data. To function properly, there must be NO ground faults in the installation.

TB 18.4 – NSC-100’s and Network Upgrade Issues

Topic:  NSC-100s and Network Upgrade Issues

Applies to: All versions of DNA Fusion and NSC-100 network sub-controllers in certain network environments

Summary: The NSC-100 sub-controller is a 10 Mbps, half-duplex device only. When upgrading networks, it is imperative to select a network switch that has the option to configure its ports for 10 Mbps/half-duplex in order for the NSC-100s to operate successfully.

Users may experience issues with NSC-100s not coming online or bouncing on/offline in DNA Fusion due to trouble with the auto-negotiation function on certain routers or switches not configured for 10 Mbps/half-duplex.

Resolution: Configure the network switch or router port for 10 Mbps/half-duplex. Please refer to your network device’s operator or instruction manual for details on setting port speeds.
